Vicinity’s 5G FR2 mmWave Distributed Base Station is an Intel X86 based base station solution that offers indoor and outdoor mmWave coverage to improve the system throughput or backhaul service. The distributed base station is cost-effective and enjoys high flexibility in installation (by changing the different combination of RU solutions) and thus, incurs much lower deployment costs. They alleviate congestion, enhance network performance, and reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) by offloading traffic from macro base stations and optimizing spectrum utilization.
